Were you or Are you a Leader you needed to have during Pandemic ?

I like my job versus I love my job. What makes it different? What and who is involved in the process to transform “like” into “love”?

What did you feel when you were challenged with the first signs of furlough, layoff when others were let go due to the business closure, lockdowns? Were you looking for the guilty one? Who was the one to be blamed for? How come, why me? I wish I could have been protected by my leader. I wish my leader would act trustworthy or differently and I could have not lost my trust and left over. Frustration, depression, anxiety and blurriness in the eyes to have the difficulty to see what the next is. Where has the empathy gone? Did I deserve it? How long will it last?

“We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity” Martin Luther King Jr.

Looking up at the questions above did you find yourself being on the shoes of my virtual respondent or what kind of smart and fair actions you would have come up with if you were the leader? Would you follow the crowd and align your actions as the rest of the unit heads? Would you be more employee oriented or business oriented while making your decision? How fair would your decision be and how long can you manage the business with this mindset?

Leader is a mentor with the skills and competencies that is often able to lead the change and transform the lives of others. Showing the empathy, focusing both on people and the business, trying the best to be the role model for others, they fail sometimes due to circumstances which is inevitable.

“Great leaders don't set out to be a leader they set out to make a difference. It is never about the Role, but always about the Goal” Lisa Haisha

Leading in 21st century is so much different than in the past and with the generation shift it became an infinite strategic and mankind game. Leadership is action and example, not a position or a title. And the true leadership comes at the times of a crisis with rises and falls. Some leaders take the crisis as an opportunity to prove themselves and strengthen their weaknesses and skills to overcome the difficult phase of business or people management.

A successful leader shows trust and leads by example. Confidence is an ability that you can build and promote in your company. When they reach challenging tasks or when they have strict schedules, the team will follow accordingly

The smartest individuals are directly responsible for a crisis, even though many obstacles and factors are beyond their control. They coordinate team emphasis, develop new performance tracking measurements, and create an integrity philosophy. Everyone in the team should be notified and synchronized with a regular goals roadmap.

Holding the battle look on till the toughest crisis is over is vital. That's because once vulnerability figures out a way, it becomes paralyzing consciousness very soon. And this may discourage leaders from making the tough decisions.

You cannot avoid the crisis that spread the whole world. However similar to every difficulty, it will pass away but you should not ignore it when it already knocks the door. The leader should take the ownership to tackle it further and acknowledge the responsibility for others and for the self.

“The true test of a leader is whether his followers will adhere to his cause from their own volition, enduring the most arduous hardships without being forced to do so, and remaining steadfast in the moments of greatest peril” Xenophon
