Hummer Automobile brand

Hummer is a rebranding name for a civilian vehicle based on the HMMWV military vehicle.

  • Hummer H3

The brand was born as a result of the conversion of the American army all-terrain vehicle HMMWV M998 (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), abbreviated as "HUMVEE" (English HUMVEE). In May 1992, an upgraded version of the M-1097 was adopted by the US Army.

In the summer of 2008, due to the deteriorating financial position of General Motors and a strong drop in demand for Hummer products, the corporation decided to sell the brand. On February 24, 2010, GM announced the beginning of the liquidation procedure for the Hummer division due to the disruption of the deal by the Chinese regulatory authorities. May 26, 2010, The last Hummer SUV rolled off the assembly line of the General Motors plant in the American Shreveport (Louisiana). After the termination of production of Hummer vehicles, the company will continue to produce the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.
